Installation problems

During the second step of the installation process "Component Installation" a "Problem Occurred" dialogue may come up with the error message:

Failed to connect to https://services.ida-step.net/ trough the Internet.

This error is indicating that IDA-STEP can't establish an Internet connection to the indicated URL. Possible reasons are:

• Your computer is not connected to the Internet
• IDA-STEP is protected from accessing the Internet through a firwall of the operating system
• The proxy has to set up for Internet access. Select Windows->Preferences and then go to General->Network Connections.

Note that the free Viewer: Basic requires direct access to the Internet during the installation process. Only for commercial licenses such as the Viewer: Pro 3D an installation without direct Internet access is available.
